Idea Generation – Geoff Petty’s ICEDIP

ICEDIP is an acronym of the six phases to a creative process according to Geoff Petty.

Inspiration – Researching and generating ideas.

Clarification – Focusing on goals.

Evaluation – Reviewing your work and learning from it.

Dissiltation – Deciding which idea to work on.

Incubation – Leaving the work alone.

Perspiration – Working determinedly on your best ideas.

Each phase should be visited many times in the process, in no particular order and for a short time. When stuck on a certain phase, move to another one.

I will use this in my current and future projects to help me come up with ideas faster and keep up with my workload.
