Tang Yau Hoong
Tang Yau Hoong is an illustrator and graphic designer who uses and experiments with light and negative space to create pieces of art that require some thought to understand. By using negative space in his work he creates multiple images in one, through a concept that tells a story and has a meaning. Some of his works act almost as puzzles or optical illusions and are thought-provoking and intriguing, making you want to look at the piece longer.
This relates to the topic of ‘Mind Games’ in the way that his work plays a trick on the eye and mind and toys with perception. I enjoy his work because of its intriguing and thought-provoking nature as well as his use of bright colours, black & white and negative space.
